SEOUL, Sept. 29 (Korea Bizwire) – eSports has a short but deep history in South Korea, so much so that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on September 28 that an eSports Hall of Fame will be established at the S-plex Center in the Sangam neighborhood of Seoul.
Located on the 11th floor, the Hall of Fame will include a “History Zone” dedicated to South Korean pro-gaming history.
Fans will be able to vote for the induction of their favorite gamers through an online vote that was opened yesterday and will close on October 8. The gamers with the most votes will have their likenesses on display for one year in the Star Zone area of the Hall of Fame.
Some of the candidates are: Starcraft players Kim Taek Yong, Heo Yeong Moo; League of Legend players Kang Beom Hyeon, and Goh Dong Billion; and Warcraft 3 player Jang Jae Ho. The top six players with the most votes will be inducted into the Star Zone.
Those interested can check the full list of candidates and vote at the Korea Creative Content Agency’s website.
