SEOUL, Jan. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean IT firm ESTsoft Corp. said Monday it will develop a bilingual artificial intelligence (AI) lecturer that can speak in both Korean and English in collaboration with YBM, a local language education company.
The AI lecturer is a virtual human version of YBM’s English lecturer Park Hye-won.
ESTsoft stressed that it will be the first time for the domestic education industry to use an AI virtual human that is bilingual.
The AI lecturer will make its debut through the online-based TOEIC speaking class that YBM will open this month.
“We will promote active cooperation with ESTsoft in various ways to present a more advanced learning environment,” YBM CEO Huh Moon-ho said.
“The year 2023 will be the first year for ESTsoft’s superior AI virtual human service to be offered both in and outside South Korea,” ESTsoft CEO Chung Sang-won said.
