SEOUL, July 28 (Korea Bizwire)The seasonal boundaries of fashion are becoming blurred due to retro and mix-match trends.

ZIGZAG, a fashion platform operated by Kakao Style, saw its sales of knee-length long walkers from July 1 to 24 jump by 105 percent compared to a year ago.

This figure was up 13 percent from the previous month. Sales of ankle-length angle boots also increased by 55 percent this month.

The platform attributed the strong sales to the popularity of the fashion style that combines summer clothes and boots, capitalizing on the comeback of Y2K, the clothing and aesthetic trends from the late ’90s and the year 2000.

In the meantime, knee-high socks marked explosive growth of 334 percent in July compared to a year ago, and they grew by 13 percent month on month.

General socks also rose by 114 percent year on year and 55 percent month on month, driven by the trend of wearing socks with boots or sandals even in the summer.

During the same month, sales of knitwear rose by 17 percent year on year, while sales of cardigans and turtleneck sweaters grew by 17 percent and 14 percent, respectively. Sales of leather fashion items also climbed by 21 percent.

Another eye-catching trend was the 31 percent increase in sales of bag items made of padding material.
