SEOUL, Nov. 6 (Korea Bizwire)Garosu-gil, a short stretch of road that was once a gathering place for fashionistas, is now attracting a younger crowd including millennials and Generation Zers (Gen Z for short) who are out to seek new fads.

Millennials make up the population who were born between the early 1980s and mid-1990s. The group of people belonging to Generation Z were born between the mid-1990s and early 2010s.

According to a report published by Samsung Fashion Institute yesterday, the area surrounding Garosu-gil, formerly frequented primarily by those working in the fashion industry, has become a hub of hip lifestyle and interesting food with an influx of shops catering to millennials and Gen Zers.

According to the institute, one such trend is the arrival of new bakeries that have developed their own creative offerings.

Visitors to Garosu-gil have been enjoying a “pilgrimage” of sorts by hopping from one bakery to another in the area.

Other trendy items that are catering to the needs of young consumers include sports goods, lifestyle products and food and beverages.

Some of the stores remain hidden in obscure locations within the Garosu area and are available to a select few who are “in the know.”

F&B outlets that offer a combination of food and other services are also all the rage these days. Food and drinks coupled with fashion and music have become very popular with the younger visitors to Garosu-gil.
