GEUMSAN, Jul. 18 (Korea Bizwire) — Ginseng fruits are ripening into a vibrant red at a ginseng field on Geumsan County, South Chungcheong Province.
In the county, a major ginseng producing area, ginseng fruit is also called “ginseng daughter,” meaning it is as precious and dear as a child.
Ginseng fruits, which take more than three years to fully ripen, are green at first, gradually ripening to red during the month of July, and then falling on their own in August.
Recently, research has been active as studies show that saponin, a key nutrient in ginseng, is concentrated in fruits.
