SEOUL, Sept. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has selected 35 additional stores from underground shopping centers in the Gangnam Express Bus Terminal and other markets to support the implementation of contactless digital services for small businesses.
In June, the government selected 20 some stores in the university district of Sinchon for the initiative.
Smart stores will be offered technical support for virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) based smart mirrors as well as kiosks.
The program also offers a smart ordering system, which allows for online reservations, orders and payment.
The ministry, in tandem with the Small Enterprise and Market Service, also plans to open up a concept store where small businesses can experience smart technology and services.
The concept store to be set up in Mapo Dream Square will showcase barista robots making coffee and a smart mirror system where users can try various hairstyles virtually.
