SEOUL, March 23 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s home shopping channels are placing a larger focus on sales of tour products with travel demand rebounding after being dampened during the pandemic period.
Home shopping company GS Shop on Wednesday announced plans to air a tour package featuring the venues of popular TV entertainment programs.
The tour package for Spain and Portugal that GS Shop will start airing from Thursday night includes the main venues of tvN’s reality show “Europe Outside Your Tent” on its itinerary.
The tour product was planned with consideration of the broadcasting schedule of the show, with GS Shop choosing to schedule sales of the tour product to enable viewers to watch it instantly after enjoying the entertainment program.
GS Shop also plans to showcase another tour product featuring the venues of an entertainment program that is scheduled to be aired at the end of this month.
According to the company, the number of bookings for overseas travel consultations reached 180,000 during the period from April to December last year, equivalent to 60 percent of the pre-COVID-19 level in 2019.
The number of bookings for the tour products aired during the January-February period was twice as high as last year’s monthly average.
