SEOUL, Mar. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — GS25, a major convenience store chain operated by GS Retail Co. introduced on Monday a new “half-priced” delivery service, and promising discounts of up to 65 percent compared to conventional convenience store parcel delivery services.
The half-priced delivery service is a parcel delivery service through which customers apply for delivery at GS25 stores and the recipient visits a GS25 stores for pick up.
It takes about four days from reception to receipt, but the fare is up to 65 percent cheaper than regular convenience store delivery.
If you send a parcel with a weight of 10 kilograms and a value of 500,000 won (US$441) by parcel post, the price of a regular convenience store package is 6,000 won, but when using the half-price service, it will only cost 2,100 won.
However, goods weighing more than 10 kilograms or goods with a total height of more than 1 meter, goods worth more than 500,000 won, and food items that may spoil cannot be sent using the half-price delivery option.
