SEOUL, March 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Shareholders of Hana Financial Group Inc. approved a third term for current Chairman Kim Jung-tai on Friday.
Kim, 66, was nominated for a third term in January and the approval was made at the financial holding firm’s regular shareholder meeting earlier in the day.
The chairman started his career by working for Seoul and Shinhan banks in the 1980s, before helping to establish Hana Bank in 1992.
He was vice president of Hana Financial and head of Hana Daetoo Securities Co. before being named CEO of Hana Bank in 2008.
Hana Financial reported a net profit of 2.03 trillion won (US$1.87 billion) last year, up 53.1 percent from a year earlier.
