Hawaiian Airlines Introduces Bid Up in S. Korea

SEOUL, Dec. 7 (Korea Bizwire)Hawaiian Airlines Inc. has introduced Bid Up, a program allowing passengers to upgrade their seats from economy to business via auction, for routes between South Korea or Japan and Hawaii.

Bid Up was first introduced on routes between Hawaii and North America in 2016. More than 55,000 customers have participated in the program ever since.

Anyone who wishes to make a bid can access the Bid Up website, type in their desired price and payment information, and agree to terms and conditions to join the auction.

Bidding prices can be modified up to 48 hours before the end of an auction.

A notification email with the bidding status will be sent to all passengers 10 days prior to the day of departure. Successful bidders will be informed 48 hours prior to the day of departure.

Passengers with winning bids will be provided with lie-flat seats that can be unfolded 180 degrees, as well as priority delivery and extra accommodation of baggage, an invitation to use the Hawaiian Airlines Premier Club or the Plumeria Lounge, and priority boarding.

They will also be provided with premium meals, unlimited drinks, as well as access to the latest movies, television shows, and music.

Hawaiian Airlines is offering flights between Incheon and Honolulu five times a week (daily with the exception of Tuesday and Wednesday).

During the peak season between January 14 and February 6 next year, the airline will offer seven flights per week.
