SEOUL, May 12 (Korea Bizwire)Hite Jinro Co., South Korea’s second-largest beverage company, said Wednesday it has kicked off exports of its popular lager beer brand Terra.

Hite Jinro said it will export the first batch of 1.2 million Terra bottles to the United States, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Sales of the Terra lager beer will start in Hong Kong this month, with the product likely to hit store shelves in the U.S. and Singapore after mid-June.

Hite Jinro said it has picked the three regions because awareness of South Korea alcohol is high there and demand for Terra is strong.

With the start of Terra exports, the company said, it will ramp up efforts to increase consumer interest in Korean beer products.

Cumulative sales of the Terra lager beer have exceed 1.65 billion bottles since its debut in March 2019.

After years of frustration with mediocre Korean lagers, Terra represented welcome progress—unfortunately it came only in time for me to enjoy it during the last two years of my stay in your fine country (out of sixteen!).
I am now retired in Portugal, and have finally become homesick enough to order the makings of Kimchi Jigae from the grocery over in Lisbon, when I saw in the picture on their site, they had Terra on the shelf!
Alas! The picture dated back to before Brexit. Their supplier had been in the UK. Please fix this. I know you can’t fix Brexit, but Europe is a very cosmopolitan place. The Amazon Germany site has other Korean lagers for sale, just not the best one!! Help me out, here. I’ve just been talking with the owner of 우리마겟 in Lisbon, and she is looking for a European supplier of Terra.
