SEOUL, Feb. 11 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Home Shopping Co., South Korea’s leading home shopping channel operator, said Monday that it will introduce eco-friendly shipping boxes made of paper with no adhesive at all.
Developed by Hyundai Home Shopping, the “finger box” can be sealed without the use of glue or tape.
Despite the lack of adhesives, one can easily open the new boxes by inserting one’s finger into the cut line shown on the outside and pulling on both sides.
A company official said, “Although production costs are about 20 percent more than ordinary boxes, we decided to introduce them to fulfill the social value of protecting the environment. This will greatly reduce the use of plastic.”
