SEOUL, July 1 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Group and the renowned Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) on Thursday announced a research collaboration under the theme of sustainable future design.
This research collaboration represents their third joint study following research into future mobility in 2020 and future cities in 2021.
This year, four teams consisting of professors and students studied how to establish a sustainable future during the period from February to May.
The ceramics design team focused on creating shapes using sustainable materials such as salt and sand.
Another team focusing on glass carried out a study about the visualization of natural structures and patterns on the basis of an understanding of the properties of glass and light.
The ‘experiment and basic research’ design team studied the design of future robots that can coexist with nature.
Lastly, the ‘digital + media’ design team focused on the improvement of social awareness about the future environment with recovery resilience.
