SEOUL, Aug. 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Group said Friday it has been recognized by U.S. consumer data research firm J.D. Power as leading car brands in terms of technology experience among consumers in the American market in 2024.
According to Hyundai, the company ranked first place for the fifth consecutive year among mass-market car brands overall in the 2024 U.S. Tech Experience Index study, earning a score of 518 points out of a 1,000-point scale. Kia Corp. finished second with 499 points.
The group’s independent luxury brand Genesis ranked highest overall and also among premium brands for innovation for a fourth consecutive year, with a score of 584, followed by Lexus and BMW in the premium segment.
The Genesis GV70, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Kia Carnival have also been recognized as models with the best applied technologies in the J.D. Power Advanced Technology Awards, the group said.
J.D. Power’s annual TXI study focuses on evaluating users’ experience with advanced vehicle technologies over a model’s first 90 days of ownership. It assesses how much owners enjoy their vehicles’ technologies and how many problems they have while operating them.
“We appreciate this recognition for cutting-edge tech because we work hard to put the customer at the center and work to make sure the tech viscerally connects,” said Olabisi Boyle, Hyundai Motor’s senior vice president for North American product planning and mobility strategy.
