SEOUL, April 14 (Korea Bizwire)Hyundai Motor made a dream come true by helping a Texas girl send a loving message to her astronaut father in space.

Using Delamar Dry Lake in Nevada as a huge canvas, Hyundai mobilized 11 of its Genesis luxury sedans to write “Steph ♡’s you!” over an area one and a half times the size of New York’s Central Park.

In its new brand new “A Message to Space” campaign launched on April 13, Hyundai helped Stephanie, a 13-year-old girl from Houston, Texas send a message to her father, who is often away from home for long periods of time.

An official at Hyundai Motor said, “To deliver the message of a young girl who missed her father so much, we wrote a huge note that can easily be seen from the International Space Station. The campaign conveys our vision as a ‘partner for life’, shortening the physical distance between loved ones.”

The message was also recognized as the Largest Tire Track Image by Guinness World Records.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Group is expanding its presence in the U.S. luxury sedan market by selling more large sedans including its Genesis, Equus and K9 models, with market share hovering above the 10 percent mark in the first quarter of this year.

Of note, Hyundai sold 6,656 units of its Genesis model, a significant increase over the 2,653 units posted a year earlier. The Genesis luxury sedan, which entered the U.S. market in April 2014, was also the third-most popular automobile in the luxury segment over the cited period, behind the BMW 5-series and Mercedes-Benz E Class.

In addition, Hyundai topped the China Brand Power Index in the mass-market auto brand category, beating its rival Volkswagen and General Motors. The state-backed survey is recognized as the most trusted brand assessment system among customers and corporations in China.
