SEOUL, Aug. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Co.’s all-new Tucson plug-in hybrid SUV ranked first in a German automobile magazine’s performance assessment of SUV models.
The Tucson plug-in hybrid SUV ranked No. 1 in a comparison review of SUVs by Germany’s Auto Bild, scoring 543 out of 800 points.
Following the Tucson plug-in hybrid SUV were Land Rover Discovery Sports PHEV in second place, with Peugeot 3008 PHEV and Toyota RAV4 PHEV tying for third place.
Auto Bild rated the Tucson plug-in hybrid SUV as a well-rounded and versatile player without any specific weaknesses.
In Europe’s C segment (semi mid-sized) SUV market, sales of the Tucson registered robust year to year growth of 87 percent in the January to May period of this year, dwarfing the Toyota RAV4 (58 percent), Peugeot 3008 (45 percent), and Land Rover Discovery Sports (12 percent).
