SEOUL, Aug. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — Preferences for international travel have evolved since 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and during the first half of the current year.
According to data by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, some 1.71 million individuals embarked on the Incheon-Osaka (Kansai) route between January and June, establishing it as the most favored outbound international flight path.
Following closely, the Incheon-Tokyo (Narita) route witnessed 1.64 million passengers, securing the second position, while the Incheon-Bangkok route was frequented by 1.41 million travelers, ranking third.
Among the top 10 most popular international flights, four were destined for Japan, while five were headed to Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines.
During early 2019, the list of preferred international flight routes featured Hong Kong in the lead and Shanghai in the ninth spot. Presently, not a single Chinese destination is present on the list.
