SEOUL, Nov. 22 (Korea Bizwire)With the growth of the food delivery industry and intensifying competition between firms to hire new employees, foreigners are increasingly being hired illegally.

Searching for a delivery job on a recruitment website returns numerous employers willing to hire foreigners, most of whom are not eligible for these jobs.

Foreigners who can work as delivery personnel should have either F-2 long-term residency, F-5 permanent residency or F-6 marriage migrant visas.

Industry sources say, however, that many foreigners work in the delivery industry illegally, holding either F-4 overseas Koreans or D-2 student visas.

Despite the increasing number of illegal employees, the government has refrained from cracking down due to restrictions in place to limit the spread of COVID-19.
