SEOUL, Sep. 7 (Korea Bizwire) -- Seocho-gu in Seoul announced on Wednesday that it has taken an innovative step by adorning electricity distribution boxes in the Bangbae-ro area with art installations created by young artists, christening the project “Seoripul Distribution Box Gallery.”
This initiative follows an earlier attention-grabbing endeavor earlier this year, where Seocho-gu showcased the artworks of emerging talents on billboards at local bus stops.
Building upon its past successes, Seocho-gu had previously championed the ‘Youth Gallery Café Support Project,’ garnering acclaim for exhibiting young artists’ works in neighborhood cafes.
Expanding their reach, they’ve now extended this artistic showcase to encompass 20 village bus stops, receiving positive feedback from the community.
The latest addition to this creative movement involves the installation of young artists’ works on electricity distribution boxes, offering citizens the chance to engage with art frequently and up close.
On March 31, Seocho-gu adorned a total of 26 electricity distribution boxes located between Bangbae Station and Inner Bangbae Station with artwork contributed by local emerging artists, enhancing the visual appeal for those strolling along the streets.
