JEJU, Jan. 10 (Korea Bizwire) — The provincial government of Jeju Island said Monday it will install a total of 16,431 street lamps and security lights along major roadsides by 2025 at a cost of 66.9 billion won (US$54 million).
The province will also earmark 31.1 billion won to upgrade 4,166 street lamps and security lights along old national roads, motorways and municipal roads.
In addition, 35.8 billion won will be spent to install 12,265 street lamps and security lights along village roads.
A total of 9.1 billion won will be spent to install 1,224 street lamps and security lights on the coastal roads that are used most frequently by citizens and tourists during 2023 and 2024.
To strengthen the management of street lamps and security lights, the provincial government plans to establish an improvement plan after inspecting road lighting along municipal and village roads.
