Jeolla Province’s Science Festival Returns This Year

JEOLLA, Aug. 30 (Korea Bizwire) – North Jeolla Province’s annual science festival is back this year for the 12th time and will kick off on Friday, helping to teach children the fundamentals of science and raising public overall interest in the discipline.

The 12th Jeollabukdo Science Festival is scheduled to be held for four days beginning on September 1, under the slogan ‘Science Meets Technology; Opening the Future of North Jeolla’.

In line with the three main concepts ‘imagination’, ‘convergence’, and ‘enjoyment’, this year’s event will offer a variety of hands-on experience events for technology that best represents the fourth industrial revolution, ranging from artificial intelligence, virtual reality and augmented reality to robotics, drones, 3D printing, and the Internet of Things.

A number of booths with different concepts including renewable energy vehicles, scientific investigation and astronomical observation will be set up to entertain festival attendees.

Among the participants of the event are a number of universities and organizations including the Korea Scout Association, the Ministry of the Gender Equality and Family, and the North Jeolla provincial government, which will also promote the World Scout Jamboree to be held in 2023 in Saemangeum, an estuarine tidal flat located in the province.

The opening ceremony is scheduled to kick off this Friday with a celebratory performance in the afternoon.
