GOYANG, June 24 (Korea Bizwire) – Korea is hosting the 14th LED & OLED Expo at Goyang’s KINTEX (Korea International Exhibition Center). The even took off on June 22 and will continue until June 25. Some 350 companies from 15 countries are presenting their LED and OLED lighting technology and related devices and components, and a total of 17,000 visitors are expected to visit.
Last year, approximately $25 million worth of export contracts were signed thanks to the expo, and the organizing committee is aiming for $40 million this year.
“Lately, the LED market has been struggling largely due to the global economic slump,” said Park Won-ju, head of the industry policy department at the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy. “But the demand for environmentally-friendly LED lighting is steadily growing along with a newly-emerging market for fusion LED systems.”
