Korean Association to Donate Korean Books to Mexico City Library

SEOUL, July 5 (Korea Bizwire)Korean books will be placed in a well-known library in Mexico City famous for its unique architectural design.

The Korean Association of Mexico on Monday (local time) announced its plan to launch a project aimed at collecting Korean-related books and donating them to the Vasconcelos Library in Mexico City.

This renowned library is known for its distinctive architectural design, featuring hanging steel shelves and towering stacks that reach the ceiling.

Among its vast collection of approximately 600,000 books, only about 100 are related to Korea.

In its initial contribution, the association donated 106 books on Korea written in Spanish and English.

These books were gathered from Hangul (Korean alphabet) schools and Korean immigrants, marking the first batch of donations.

“The books will serve as the foundation for a project to promote Korea in Mexico,” said Jose Mariano Leyva, director of the Vasconcelos Library.
