SEOUL, South Korea, Oct 10 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Electronics has launched ten new “airwasher” models that can double as a humidifier on October 9 ahead of the dry winter season. All the models are activated by voice commands when turning on or off the machine. With a total of 46 humidifier discs inside the device, the airwasher can raise the humidity of the room with up to 0.4 liter of water an hour.
The thin, circular discs turn like waterwheels through the water removing impurities from the air naturally while emitting fine water particles. The company said the more the discs in the machine, the more water particles it can produce within given time.
The water particles coming out of the device is as small as one 50,000th of those emanated by regular humidifiers. As microbes are unable to attach to small particles, the airwashers are safe for germ pollutions.

The airwashers’ designs are also special. By taking into account possible accidents when a child hits the machine, all the outer design was in circular shapes without any angular parts. The models were also designed in trapezoidal forms so that they won’t tip over easily when a child pushes the machine accidentally.
The models’ power consumption level is 12 watts, the lowest among comparable models, with the noise level of only 27 decibels, as quiet as in a library. The retail prices will range between 379,000 and 479,000 won.
Cho Ju-wan, LG Electronics senior manager in charge of home air-conditioners, said, “LG airwashers can supply moisture as natural as that coming out when wet laundry is drying. As we boast the best air-cleaning technology in the industry, we are going to lead the newly emerging airwasher market based on superior quality.”
