SEOUL, Sept. 28 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. said Monday that it will carry out its global donation campaign LG Come Home Challenge in a customer participation format using metaverse platforms.
The company plans to operate a home electronics experience zone under the concept of ‘healthy life’ at metaverse gaming platforms such as the popular games “Animal Crossing New Horizons” and “Fortnite.”
Customers can make donations while enjoying a variety of original content on the metaverse platforms.
Along with customers who participate in the event, the tech giant will donate about US$210,000 to non-profit organization Habitat for Humanity Korea.
The donation will be used to build houses, schools and libraries as well as to improve the sanitary environment, including the establishment of joint drinking water systems and toilets in Kenya, India and Vietnam.
