SEOUL, March 25 (Korea Bizwire) — A pop-up store that brings back an old arcade through LG Electronics Inc.’s OLED TVs is reopening in Seongsu-dong in eastern Seoul.
The company said Thursday that Goldstar Arcade, which first opened last year, will reopen next month. Goldstar is the LG’s old brand.
The arcade has been a mixture of new and old, the so-called ‘new-tro’ style game center equipped with LG ultra-high-resolution OLED TVs to attract the “MZ generation,” a Korean term referring to those aged between late 10s and 30s.
The arcade brings back all-time favorites like “Kart Rider” and other retro games to OLED screens.
LG has recently announced a new line-up for its OLED TVs in 2022. The 42-inch OLED television and other premium TVs will be released this year to target the gaming TV market.
