SEOUL, Dec. 21 (Korea Bizwire)A majority of drivers who have purchased Kia Corp.’s all-electric EV6 sedan preferred trims offering longer range, letting them cover longer distances on a single charge.

Hyundai Motor Group reported that 93.1 percent of customers who had purchased an EV6 as of last month had selected the Long Range trim.

Only 5.6 percent of customers selected the default Standard trim, while only 1.3 percent said they‘d wait for the high-spec GT model, which is expected to be released next year.

This reflects customers prioritizing range when it comes to electric vehicle purchases, Hyundai explained.

The Long Range model is capable of covering up to 475 kilometers on a single charge, whereas the Standard model can cover up to 370 kilometers (2WD) per charge.

Potential EV6 buyers picked fuel efficiency and driving range as the two most important factors in considering buying an electric car.

Customers in their 30s and 40s comprised 51 percent of all EV6 buyers.
