SEOUL, Jan. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — The 2019 Korea Grand Sale, a shopping festival for foreign tourists, is to be held from January 17 to February 28.
Roughly 850 South Korean firms will participate in the festival to provide extensive discounts to foreign tourists on variety of items.
Airlines will be selling flight tickets at discounted prices, and the K Travel Bus will hold a 1+1 event for domestic routes from Seoul.
In particular, low-cost carriers Air Seoul Co. and Jeju Air Co. will provide 97 percent and 85 percent discounts, respectively, for airline tickets bound for South Korea.
Some 70 major hotels in the country will provide discounts of up to 25 percent at their signature restaurants.
The Ramada Encore Haeundae and other hotels will give be promoting discounts of 55 percent to 75 percent for foreign tourists.
In addition, a special tour program awaits foreigners, which will take them on a tour of exquisite restaurants with more than fifty years of history.
During the festival, a welcome center will be set up in Seoul’s Cheonggye Square to provide information to tourists.
In the popular Dongdaemun and Hongdae neighborhoods, a special vehicle will make the rounds to provide a mobile tourist information service.
During the golden week for Lunar New Year’s Day holiday from February 1 to 8, a welcome booth will be set up at the airports in Incheon and Gimpo for the convenience of foreign tourists.
