SEOUL, Jan.6 (Korea Bizwire) – Many companies are changing their New Year’s rituals, with events heading in a new direction. Instead of formal ceremonies, more and more companies are starting their year with good deeds.
Hyundai Department Store Group donated coal briquettes to those in need. Employees and executives as well as consumer volunteers carried the coal briquettes to the needy, and also donated 200,000 units to the ‘Briquette Bank’.

Employees of Black Yak, the outdoors brand, cleaned the trash along the Yangjaecheon Stream. They have cleaned the trash from various mountains every year since 2013, but are now planning to carry out the activity every month.
Employees of Eugene Group gathered 500 million won and donated it to the Community Chest of Korea.
Affiliates of Hanhwa Group visited the Seoul National Cemetery to pay their respects to those who fought for their country.
Hanhwa executives participated in the ceremony, along with 110 employees. Hanhwa has set up a sisterhood relationship with the Seoul National Cemetery since 2011, and has been starting each year by paying their respects.
