POHANG, Jan. 30 (Korea Bizwire) – Pohang’s state-run part-time job search engine, which connects job seekers and employers with flexible working hours, has proven a success.

According to the Pohang city government on Monday, the job portal dubbed ‘Jaturi (Spare) Time Exchange’ has been visited by over 7,000 people since its launch earlier this month.

Since the site’s launch, 173 job openings have been added, with 467 job seekers having registered.

So far, dozens of people have found a lower-responsibility part-time job that they can do during their spare time at places like restaurants, cleaning services, and moving companies.

Pohang’s new job portal has gained popularity as many employers and employees were having a hard time finding jobs and workers for odd working hours.

Recently, the city government sent out guidebooks to nearly 40,000 small and medium-sized enterprises and business establishments in the region to promote the job search service.

To use the service, visit the official website jaturi.pohang.go.kr, or call 054-273-1919.

“As it’s in the early stages, we focused on getting as many employers and workers on board with the program. As 20 people have found jobs so far, we see it as a considerable success,” a city official said.
