SEOUL, Dec. 14 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean food producer Pulmuone Co. said Tuesday it will begin supplying products to 18 campuses in the U.S., including the University of Massachusetts and the University of California, after signing a contract to provide plant-based food.
Pulmuone’s local affiliate, Pulmuone Foods USA, Inc., first jumped into the U.S. foodservice market in 2014 and gained a presence in the network of college cafeterias and restaurant franchises.
As a result, the company partnered with UMass Dining, America’s largest food caterer for college cafeterias, and began supplying plant-based alternative meat to the University of Massachusetts Amherst in November of last year.
The company continues to expand its distribution network as it began supplying plant-based food products to supermarket chains like Albertsons Companies, Inc. in the second quarter of this year.
