SEOUL, Oct. 21 (Korea Bizwire)After baby laughter and cooks making delicious food filled TV shows, robots are about to make an appearance.

The heroes of tvN’s new variety show, ‘Grandma’s Robot’, are actual robots worth 500 million won each.

The program intends to help the elderly living alone in the countryside, and bring them joy through these robots. “When we thought who would be most far from robots, we came up with grandmas living in the country. Grandmas with a lot of love and emotionless robots seemed like a fun combination,” said Park Jong-hoon, the show’s producer, commented on the purpose of the show.

Three robots are each sent to a country village with actor Lee Hee-jun, comedian Jang Dong-min, and idol star B1A4. Singer Gangnam will also participate as the head of the robot center.

The way in which these unconventional roommates live and interact with one another is expected to attract viewers to the show. The program will hit the airwaves starting on October 21, at 11 p.m. every Wednesday.
