SEOUL, April 11 (Korea Bizwire)The most common Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) type among the wealthiest individuals in South Korea is ESTJ — extraverted, sensing, thinking and judging — a report showed Monday.

According to the report by the Hana Institute for Finance, 26.8 percent of the country’s superrich were ESTJ, which is three times higher than the overall public.

They were followed by ISTJ (introverted, sensing, thinking and judging, 24.4 percent), INTJ (introverted, intuitive, thinking and judging) and INFJ(introverted, intuitive, feeling and judging, 9.8 percent), and ESFP (extraverted, observant, feeling and prospecting, 7.3 percent).

The institute defined the superrich in its report as those whose net assets totaled 30 billion won (US$22.6 million) or more or those whose financial assets came to at least 10 billion won.

“ESTJs are regarded as leaders and managers. They uphold social order, are realistic, and active in pursuing their objectives,” the report said.

“Many private bankers also referred to the capacity for execution as a primary feature of the superrich.”

Specifically, the T and J elements were higher in proportion among the superrich with larger financial assets, whereas the I and S elements were lower.

“Financial management doesn’t happen in a single day. It requires an accurate assessment of the market as well as diligence over extensive, regular periods, allowing personalities with T and J elements to gain wealth and presence more than those with F and P elements,” the report said.
