Samsung Display Holds 2014 Future Display Idea Contest

SEOUL, Sep. 4 (Korea Bizwire)Samsung Display will hold a 2014 Future Display Idea contest named “Imagine Your Display.” Anyone who attends universities or graduate schools with groundbreaking ideas can apply for the contest until November 9.

A first prize winner and two runner-ups will be announced at the beginning of December, winning 3 million won and 1 million won respectively.

A total of 4,500 students participated in the contest, submitting 2,500 entries from 2009 to 2013. Layer-D, a 3D display with multitasking available won the first prize last year while 3D Pad Lamp, a flexible-shaped display, was a runner-up.

“The contest is an arena for combining the cutting-edge display technology with novel ideas,” Kim Hyo-jin, the first-prize winner last year who created Layer-D said. “I can’t wait to witness those new products in our daily lives,” she added.
