Samsung Engineering Holds “Outreach Environment Class” to Mark World Environment Day

SEOUL, June 6 (Korea Bizwire) – Marking the World Environment day which came on June 5th, Samsung Engineering, one of Samsung Group affiliates, opened “Outreach Environment Class” on June 3. Samsung’s  “green cause” program is aimed at raising awareness on environmental conservation which was given to school children residing in Hwasung and Gi-heung City in the outskirts of Seoul, Where Samsung Electronics operates its main production lines.   

Many global brands showcase a wide variety of events to celebrate the World Environmental day and Samsung Engineering, for one, decided to visit and provide voluntary lessons on new renewable energy and recycling and diverse experiential activities such as making a solar energy house and eco-shopping bags. The program was held at Chung-Ryong Elementary School in the attendance of 20 of its students. 

The company employees — mainly from the head office in Seoul, gave out eco-friendly tumblers and pencils that are made out of recycled paper and environment-friendly flowerpots to arouse children’s awareness and teach the importance of environment preservation.

Approved by the Ministry of Environment, Samsung’s “green cause” campaign invites a host of experts in the environment and energy field who are accompanied by the Samsung volunteers when they visit the designated schools, is a form of “talent donation,” one of the most popular ways of realizing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) conducted by the local brands.
