SEOUL, Oct. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics’ latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7, have received the highest ratings from leading consumer publications in the United States and Europe, reinforcing the company’s dominance in the premium foldable market.
According to industry sources on Wednesday, consumer advocacy magazines in five countries — including Consumer Reports in the United States, Which? in the United Kingdom, Altroconsumo in Italy, Deco Proteste in Portugal, and Test Achats in Belgium — all ranked the Galaxy Z Fold7 as the top foldable smartphone available.
Consumer Reports awarded both the Fold7 and Flip7 81 points, the highest scores among foldable devices reviewed. The Fold7 earned top marks for its bright, easily readable outdoor display, enhanced durability, and AI-powered camera system. The Flip7 was praised as a “compact, portable choice that combines strong camera and battery performance.”
In the UK, Which? rated the Fold7 the highest alongside Motorola’s Razr 60 Ultra, giving it 77 points based on nine evaluation categories including performance, battery life, image quality, and display durability.
The Flip7 followed closely with 76 points, ranking third overall. Similarly, Italy’s Altroconsumo, Portugal’s Deco Proteste, and Belgium’s Test Achats also placed the Fold7 and Razr 60 Ultra in joint first place.
Even Samsung’s previous-generation Fold6 and Flip6 models retained high positions in European rankings, highlighting the brand’s continued strength in the foldable segment.
Meanwhile, Samsung is preparing to unveil its first “tri-fold” smartphone later this month during the APEC summit in Gyeongju. The device, which folds twice to achieve smartphone portability while expanding into a tablet-sized screen, is expected to launch as early as November.
The tri-fold model, with an anticipated price tag of around 4 million won ($2,900), involves a more complex manufacturing process than the existing Fold lineup. Samsung reportedly aims to emphasize craftsmanship and technological leadership over sales volume, seeking to widen its innovation gap with rivals such as Huawei, whose Mate XT debuted earlier this year.
