BUCHEON, July 15 (Korea Bizwire)The 24th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) has seen a constant inflow of visitors despite the coronavirus outbreak since its grand opening on July 9.

On the second day of the festival, tickets for 24 out of 32 film screenings were sold out. For the weekends, all 63 screenings have been booked.

Tickets for most of the screenings are only available via online reservation.

At CGV Sopoong in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province where the festival is being held, the most notable additions to the atmosphere this year were the thermal cameras, placed in front of the elevator, the main corridor, and the main entrance.

Visitors are asked to register at the entrance using QR codes for efficient tracking in case of a coronavirus outbreak.

They also have to enter a walk-through air shower system shaped like an open door, which measures the body temperature of each person and blows off fine dust.

At each entrance to the screening area, hand sanitizers and tissues are placed along with a board carrying the title of each movie.

Visitors are required to sit two seats away from each other in the theater. Prohibited seating areas have been marked with orange tape.

“International film festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival that were recently cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic are taking keen interest in BIFAN, which was able to screen movies despite the current circumstances,” said Lim Jin-soon, secretary-general of BIFAN.
