Seogwipo Penguin Swimming Competition Rings in the New Year

SEOGWIPO, Dec. 27 (Korea Bizwire)The international Penguin Swimming Competition, the most exotic event for the winter seas, will be held on January 1st at Jungmun Saekdal beach in Seogwipo, Jeju.

The event, hosted by the city of Seogwipo and organized by the Seogwipo City Tourism Council, will provide a dramatic experience to all 3,000 participants from South Korea and around the world.

The annual competition is a representative event for the New Year, where participants clear away the traces of the old year and welcome the hopeful year to come.

The event begins in the morning at 10 a.m. with registration for a time capsule for New Year’s wishes. At noon, with warm-up exercises, participants will enter the winter sea and swim.
