SEOUL, April 10 (Korea Bizwire) – The Seoul metropolitan government on Monday opened a general hospital dedicated to treating pet plants inside the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center.
The new institution provides an expert prescription of ill plants by diagnosing the health condition of the plant. Severely ill plants will be hospitalized for a three-month concentrated medical treatment.
The hospital is comprised of a diagnosis room, prescription room, hospital beds, and a training room for inviting citizens and educating them on how to take care of plants properly.
The hospital is run on reservations through the Internet or by phone. Plants can also be treated through video calls.
Seoul also plans to run local “pet plant clinics” throughout the city. Following a trial in four districts, the city will add more clinics throughout all districts.
The clinics will be in charge of providing first-hand consultation and treatment for plants. If a plant is in a dire condition, the clinic will send it to the plant hospital.
The hospital and clinic is free of charge. Each person can receive treatment for up to three pots of plants every month.
Between April and June, the city will run a “doorstep plant clinic” program at apartment complexes, where plant experts will visit homes directly to test plants for pests using video equipment, and educate people on how to take care of plants.
