Show Time Entertainment Establishes Branch in China

SEOUL, March 10 (Korea Bizwire)Show Time Entertainment, a Korean comedy agency, has signed a MoU with the Korea-China Federation of Culture, Tourism and Media (KCCTM) to jointly establish an agency based in Beijing, China. The agency will be located in Beijing’s National Music Industry Park, which houses music and acting studios.

Show Time Entertainment, home to well-known Korean comedians such as Oh Na-mi and Song Joong-geun, already established its own branch in Beijing on March 6, in a first for Korean comedy agencies. The joint agency will serve to produce Korean comedy shows in China and feature Korean stand-up comedians on Chinese TV programs.

The company has been holding comedy performances in China, Philippine and Japan for the past seven years, and has also produced comedy musicals and movies. It also operates its own theater in the city of Asan.

Through its branch and the planned joint agency, Show Time Entertainment is set to play a pivotal role in providing stepping stones to Korean comedians trying to achieve success in the Chinese entertainment industry. The company is also planning to establish academies and production companies in China.
