To celebrate its 70th anniversary, the Gyeongju National Museum will display 600 Silla cultural assets, including the 30 pieces that are state-designated cultural properties. The exhibit titled ‘The Golden Culture and Buddhist Art of Silla’, will run from July 21 to November 1.
Of particular note, the Gilt-bronze Maitreya in Meditation (National Treasure No. 83), widely accepted as a dynasty masterpiece, will be open to public viewing.
The exhibit will be divided into five sections. The first four sections, Golden Culture, Tombs, Foreign Exchange and Royal Capital, will cover the cultural assets of Silla, while the last section, Buddha Land, will cast light on Silla’s Buddhist culture.
