SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Korea Bizwire) – Smilegate Hope Studio announced the launch of Korea’s first gamified donation platform, Hope Studio, on Tuesday.
Hope Studio stands as an interactive platform that brings together partners, donors, and gamers in a collective effort to address societal challenges. This platform seamlessly merges the realms of donation and volunteer activities with gaming intellectual property (IP), in collaboration with partners and gaming operational elements, providing an experience that makes social contribution activities both more accessible and enjoyable, akin to playing games.
Users have access to two primary services: ‘Funding’ for making donations and ‘Healing’ for engaging in volunteer activities. What’s more, the platform offers a ‘Proposal’ feature, allowing users to directly present ideas for pro bono work that address societal concerns.
Active participation in social contribution activities within the platform enables users to advance through levels and attain a ‘rank,’ essentially a form of recognition, imparting the sense of joy derived from donations and the gratification of volunteering.
Additionally, users can contribute to donation activities using ‘Stove Points,’ which are applicable within Smilegate’s gaming platform, Stove.
Major Korean game companies, including Wemade Play, Devsisters, and JoyCity, are actively participating as partner organizations on this platform.
Kwon Yeon-joo, the director of Hope Studio, said “We anticipate that the newly launched Hope Studio platform will offer users and donors an enjoyable means of engaging in addressing social issues and spreading hope for future generations, thereby contributing to the creation of a better society.”
