SEOUL, Feb. 16 (Korea Bizwire) — The Songpa District Office in Seoul said Tuesday that it had joined hands with startup Olulo, the operator of the electric scooters sharing service Kickgoing, to create new jobs for its elderly residents.
After signing a business agreement with Olulo in December last year, the district office decided to operate the ‘senior electric kickboard supporter program.’
Officials recruited 12 elderly residents over 60 who will be responsible for rearranging carelessly parked Kickgoing e-scooters at six popular sites in the district.
The elderly employees will check the sites three times a week and two and a half hours a day per person. They will be in charge of rearranging the carelessly abandoned e-scooters that block the braille blocks on the pavement, bicycle paths and crosswalks.
The district office held an inauguration ceremony for the elderly employees early this month and offered occupational training to the seniors who were not familiar with e-scooters.
