SEOUL, July 16 (Korea Bizwire) — Korean animations have hit the airwaves in Ecuador.
The South Korean Embassy in Quito reported that the country’s state-run Ecuador TV has been airing South Korean animations since last month.
Every day at 9:30 a.m., the state television airs “Pororo the Little Penguin” and “Tayo the Little Bus” for 60 minutes.
This feat is the result of an agreement between Arirang TV, South Korea’s English-language broadcaster, and the Ecuador TV.
It is the first time for South Korean animations to be aired in Ecuador, the embassy explained.
“The animations seem to be garnering positive views from the audience. The television station is airing reruns of past episodes,” the embassy said.
