SEOUL, Jan. 20 (Korea Bizwire) — Sunday package deliveries in South Korea have climbed sharply since CJ Logistics introduced its seven-day delivery service last year, underscoring how changing consumer habits are reshaping the country’s logistics industry.
CJ Logistics said Monday that deliveries made on Sundays rose 67 percent by December compared with early 2025, following the rollout of its “O-NE” daily delivery service in January last year.
The increase was driven largely by everyday consumer goods. Shipments of baby-related products — including diapers, infant formula and childcare items — jumped more than fourfold, reflecting growing demand for weekend delivery among households with young children.

Fashion and accessories also recorded strong growth, with Sunday deliveries rising 93 percent, while cosmetics and beauty products increased 89 percent.
Food deliveries climbed 70 percent, aided in part by a surge in shipments of regional specialty products, which rose 138 percent from the start of the year — a development the company said has helped expand sales channels for local farmers and fisheries.
By category, fashion and accessories accounted for the largest share of Sunday deliveries at 27 percent, followed by food products at 21 percent, lifestyle and health items at 17 percent, cosmetics at 11 percent, and books and music at 8 percent — a mix reflecting the dominance of consumer goods in online shopping.
CJ Logistics said it plans to continue expanding areas covered by the O-NE service and to upgrade its mobile application to encourage greater use of customer-to-customer parcel services.
“The introduction of uninterrupted, seven-day delivery has broadened sales opportunities for merchants while significantly improving shopping convenience and customer satisfaction,” said Yoon Jae-seung, head of the company’s O-NE division. “We will continue refining the service to support sustainable growth across the logistics ecosystem.”
As weekend shopping becomes increasingly routine, the surge in Sunday deliveries highlights a broader shift in how and when South Koreans expect goods to arrive — with speed and flexibility now as important as price.
