SEOUL, Nov. 19 (Korea Bizwire) – Toyota Korea officially launched the latest generation of its Camry on November 18. The price tag was set at 33.9 million won for the XLE 2.5 liter gasoline-engine model, higher than that of Hyundai’s Sonata (22.5 – 29.9 million won), but similar in price to the Hyundai Grandeur (30.2 – 38.7 million won).
At the launch ceremony, Toyota Korea named the Volkswagen Passat as the 2015 Camry’s main rival and aimed for 10 percent growth in the Korean automobile market. In the following press conference, Yoshida Akihasa, president of Toyota Korea, announced that the company hopes to sell more than 3,000 Camrys in Korea next year.
