SEOUL, Dec. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — Vietnamese science minister was found to have recently presented a smartphone made by Vietnamese technology to his South Korean counterpart.
According to Vietnamese media outlet, Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh gave South Korean Science and ICT Minister Choi Ki-young a Vsmart Live, a smartphone produced by Vietnamese manufacturer VinSmart, at a meeting held in Seoul last Wednesday.
Vietnamese press interpreted the move as Vietnam’s increasing confidence in its homegrown technology. The smartphone comes with a full frontal screen, a fingerprint sensor, and a triple camera system.
Vietnamese media CafeBiz explained that Vietnam is making an appeal to the world through technology led by VinSmart and Vietnam’s first automobile manufacturer, VinFast.
VinSmart is an affiliate of private conglomerate Vingroup established last June.
In just 12 months since its establishment, VinSmart built assembly plants and released eight different kinds of smartphones that are currently exported to Spain, Russia, and Myanmar.
