SEOUL, Mar. 3 (Korea Bizwire) — Several white-tailed sea eagles left Namdaecheon Stream in the south of Gangneung city, which has been their wintering ground from last December, and headed towards to the Northern hemisphere on March 2. White-tailed sea eagles are classified as a category 1 endangered species in Korea. They were designated as natural monument No. 243 in 1973.
Three or four white-tailed sea eagles dwelled at the prolific Namdaecheon Stream in this year. The stream is known to be one of the most populated wintering grounds in Korea, attracting a large number of various migratory birds.
