SEOUL, Sept. 29 (Korea Bizwire) — This year’s Wonju Hanji Festival and an accompanying fashion show will be held on October 21 and 22 at Wonju Hanji Theme Park in celebration of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
The annual festival and fashion show, which celebrates the beauty of hanji, or traditional Korean paper, is back this year ahead of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, which is in the same province as Wonju.
During the event, a sketching competition will be held, with the main theme being the dream of Winter Olympics drawn on hanji, as well as a photo zone where sculptures made of the traditional Korean paper will welcome visitors to the event.
In addition, markets selling handmade goods made of hanji, as well as food, are scheduled to be held.
“In celebration of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, this year’s Wonju Hanji Festival and Hanji fashion show will be held with the cooperation of local residents in both Gangwon Province and the city of Wonju,” one official at Wonju Hanji Theme Park said.
