SEOUL, Oct. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — A BTS concert held in the southeastern port city of Busan on Saturday in support of the city’s bid for the 2030 World Expo has gained a lot of attention in the online sphere.
An hour prior to the start of the concert, K-pop fan community platform Weverse was already filled with chats in foreign languages, including English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic and Thai.
The massive inflow of chats rendered it almost impossible to read, indicating the septet’s worldwide popularity.
Fans posted purple hearts to express their affection toward BTS.
For fans in Korea and Japan, the BTS concert was also available on TV broadcast channels like JTBC and Japanese TBS Channel 1.
It was livestreamed on various online platforms that include Weverse, ZEPETO and Naver Now.
During the performance, BTS member Jin flicked his hand as if he was about to blow a kiss, to which numerous fans responded with a crying emoji to express their excitement.
Fans joining from abroad posted videos of themselves watching the live broadcast of the concert on their social media accounts.
